An evening of music and poetry exchanges on the quayside with: Edinburgh based poet Ken Cockburn & local Dunbar girl band Nick Tate & the Sharks, along with other friends writers and musicians.

Ken is residing in The Beach Hut on Victoria Harbour all week, and will be walking the John Muir Way, researching and producing new works which will be displayed in the Beach Hut.

The system you have is a full off grid Pv system with a single Pv panel , charge controller, gel battery and inverter   The energy from the sun is collected by the panel which produces electricity which in turn is stored in the battery and when required at 230v ac to power the screen is converted from the battery voltage by an inverter

We like a challenge and have been more than happy to provide the system for what is our smallest Pv system to date!

Explore the brand new library in the Bleachingfield Community Centre and find the clues hidden in Isabell’s beautiful hand made books.

Isabell is a paper artist and has made 10 hand made books called Look Closer which are inspired by the John Muir Way, they can be found within the library throughout the season; enter to have a chance to win a prize.

The artist and writer Rosie Lesso has developed a writing opportunity in connection with her art works which are based on the theme of migration (look out for her road signs)

All ages are encouraged to write short poems which can be posted in her WORD BOXES  selected works to be published in a hard backed book at the end of the season

WORD BOXES are sited in: Bleachingfield Library, The Town House Museum & The Beach Hut on Victoria Harbour

Explore the landscape through pinhole photography, the simplest but most elemental and magical photographic technique, using an old tea-caddy, some duct tape and a pinhole..! You will be taken through the steps to make a paper pinhole photograph.

FREE: Families and young people, 10+ (Involves using darkroom chemicals, though Chris and Alastair can take care of that for you if you like)

Two-hour session (Introduction then straight into making your own black and white pinhole negatives on paper!) starts at McArthur’s Store at:

1pm and then again at 3pm on the 26th August 2012

In connection with the harvest from the Battery Physic Garden this workshop will explore natural pattern in the landscape, working with the subtle and experimental processes of printing.

Explore various printing techniques and processe: lino, collographs and mono printing.

Exploring some of our precious bees and butterflies which we hope will be attracted to the wild flower art works sown in Lauderdale Park

A wet felting workshop where young people will be shown traditional methods of making felt using natural local wool coloured with organic dyes to produce a bee or butterfly hanging to take away
